MEET THE TEAM

Janie

Janie Noah grew up in West Michigan and is interested in the intersection of agriculture and education. She believes that fruits and vegetables have the power to positively impact the bodies and minds of children.  She graduated from Aquinas College with a degree in elementary education and has worked as a farm hand at Groundswell Community Farm since 2018. Currently, she is a FoodCorps AmeriCorps service member in Petoskey, MI. She can’t wait to see how Groundswell continues to flourish!

Jan

Jan Randolph grew up in the “heartland” of rural Western Kansas, where agriculture was rich and the cattle and wheat industry kept things booming.

Jan moved to Michigan for a change of pace and has been working at Groundswell this past year in operations, assisting with management and oversight of the business as well as working in the field. Jan plans to continue her work behind the scenes as she assists with the development and restructuring of Groundswell, an organic farm with much history and a continued plan to expand and diversify its mission.

Josh

Josh Usadel worked at Groundswell for the 2011, 2013, and 2019 seasons. His non-farm job is driving a school bus for special needs kids.

When he’s not working Josh enjoys doing yoga at the Pyramid Scheme and playing shows with his Latin rock band Cabildo. Josh also has two kids, Finn and Annabelle, who love visiting Groundswell when they can.

TJ

Hi there, my name is Todd Kimball, but everyone calls me TJ. I got my bachelor’s at GVSU in Philosophy and spent over 2 years living, studying, and working overseas. I’ve taught Social Studies in Thailand, English in Taiwan, and worked as a Study Abroad Intern in India. Here at home I’ve worked as a human resource specialist for medical interpreters, a direct care worker for people with developmental disabilities, and as an organic farmer and team leader. My passions focus on the natural world, international exchange, and general humanitarianism. Feel free to chat with me if you see me around the farm. I’m always happy to meet someone new!

Caleb

Caleb was born in Cape Town, South Africa and has lived in Michigan since he was five years old. He enjoys reading, listening to music, playing computer games, soccer, and basketball, and learning about agriculture.
